This is what we actually collect, what's public, and how to get your information taken down — no cookie banner, no boilerplate. If anything here doesn't match what you see on the site, tell us.
Claiming your listing. Your name, your role at the farm, and at least one way to reach you — phone, WhatsApp, or email (a website or social link alone isn't enough; we need a channel we can actually reply on). That's what confirms a real person is behind the listing.
A listing we've prepared but you haven't claimed. We compile those from public sources before you're ever involved — your name and general location, not information you gave us.
Calls for contribution. Whatever you write in answer, and any photos you upload. We strip identifying location data from photos before we store them.
Discussion boards. Whatever you post, under your farm's name.
Automatically. The site logs basic events — a farm profile loading, an action taken from a dashboard — so we can see what's working and fix what's broken. Our own records don't include your IP address or a device fingerprint, and we don't run any outside analytics or ad tracking.
Claiming your listing is what makes it public — that's the point. Once you claim, your farm's contact details go on the map so a traveler or a chef can reach you directly.
A prepared listing you haven't claimed yet has no public page and no contact details — it isn't visible to anyone outside our team until you claim it.
Contribution submissions and their photos are private. Only our team can see them, and nothing goes further unless we ask to feature your farm's material and you say yes.
Discussion boards are visible only to other farms with a confirmed listing — never to visitors, and never indexed by search engines.
The site runs on services we rent — one hosts the website, one stores the database, one sends our email. They hold your information on our behalf and do nothing else with it. When you open the map, the map images come straight from a mapping service to your browser — that part never passes through us. We don't sell your information, and we don't hand it to anyone else. (The companies, if you want to check: Cloudflare hosting, Supabase database, Resend email, OpenStreetMap and MapTiler for map images.)
Any farm can ask to come off the map at any time. Email hello@rf-sea.com and we take your listing down — a person does it by hand, same day. Your contribution submissions come down with it.
